Defensive Tackle Anthony (A.J.) Joseph Francis played college ball at Maryland. A talented a 2009 freshman All-American, AJ was a durable performer who has played in each of his last 37 games, started in all 12 games as a senior and was second in the ACC in fumbles recovered. He was a three-time Academic All-ACC choice and earned his degree in government and politics.
Ron was able to sign AJ with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted PRIORITY free agent in 2013 as a defensive tackle. He was placed on their practice squad.
Then, the New England Patriots signed AJ to the team’s 53-man roster and placed him on their practice squad. Ron intervened and was able to get Miami to re-sign AJ to their 53-man roster as an active member. For 2014, however, AJ was put on injured reserve.
AJ is fresh and looking forward to having a dynamic season with the Dolphins in 2015.
Ron is currently working with AJ on a promotional opportunity, specifically, Uber Ride Sharing. On 4/22/2015, AJ sent a tweet that read, “Just applied to be an @Uber driver . . . I hope my background check goes well.” This unleashed a social media backlash against AJ to which he tweeted the following, “People ask me why would you want to be an @Uber driver if you play in the NFL… You know what’s better than NFL money? More money.” That quote and AJ’s efforts on You Tube (link here) and elsewhere earned him 1,500 story references in various news outlets. Ron is trying to negotiate a promotional deal for AJ with Uber.
